Session

Creating Impact Across Generations

Plenary

The world’s toughest challenges like climate change, poverty and inequality, cannot be solved without a long-term, systemic approach. Business families are uniquely positioned to play a central role in solving them, due to their multi-generational approach and intrinsic focus on longevity.

FBN creates pathways for families to create systemic change through sustainable business transformation, investments, philanthropy and advocacy. In this panel, we will hear from three families who have leveraged these drivers of change and activated multiple forms of capital to contribute meaningfully to the world.

Community Lab Impact - Taking Your Family’s Impact to the Next Level

Community Lab

We are all constantly leveraging multiple types of capital to achieve our goals and make things happen. Whether we are using a relationship to get connected to a new opportunity or investing in a new line of business to expand our operations, the many forms of capital play a central role in how we interact with each other and shape the world around us.

In this session, we will help you better define and understand the different types of capital you have access to and explore how combining different forms of capital can often have an exponential effect. We will also explore why families are uniquely positioned to deploy their capital to achieve impact via the four drivers of change (business transformation, impact investing, philanthropy, and advocacy), provide resources your family can use to amplify your impact, and share examples from leading families that have collaborated to achieve impact at a scale and drive systemic change.
