Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger

G3, Honorary Chairman of Champagne Taittinger

Pierre-Emmanuel, the son of Jean and Corinne Taittinger and grandson of Pierre Taittinger, the founder of the Champagne house, was born in Reims in 1953.

He graduated from the Centre de Formation aux Affaires of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Reims, and the Centre de Perfectionnement aux Affaires in Paris.

In 1976 he joined the family business alongside his uncle working as a salesman. He then moved on to become the Director of Sales in France, Assistant Managing Director and then Managing Director.

After the sale of the Taittinger group to Starwood in 2005, Pierre-Emmanuel bought back the Champagne House along with his branch of the Taittinger family and the support of Crédit Agricole Nord-East.

After overseeing the buyout in the middle of 2006 with the support of Crédit Agricole du Nord-Est, Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger took over the management of the company, of which he is now President. He was appointed Commander of the “Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne” (Order of the Champagne Hills) in 2009 for 2 years.

Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger is also the chairman of Domaine Carneros in California, an estate created in 1988 with Taittinger’s historic partner in the United States, the Kopf family.

In January 2020, he made the decision to entrust the future of the family business to the next generation and named Vitalie Taittinger as his successor. Under this new leadership organization he reaffirms the guarantee of a family commitment to the highest standards of quality and excellence. He remains President of Honor of the House.

« I have dedicated more than 45 years of my life to Champagne and the House that bears our name and our history. These last thirteen years have undoubtedly been the most effervescent, the most exhilarating of my career at Taittinger. In every possible way, I have been instrumental in ensuring the quality of our wines, whose consistency is a source

of great joy to me. The results are beyond all expectations and Taittinger has never been so « Champagne », true to the values I uphold. I can hand over the reins, secure in a sense of accomplishment : a passionate team in whom I have complete confidence, very fine wines, a large and growing number of fans of our brand in more than 140 countries around the world. Taittinger holds a genuine potential for development and now more than ever reflects the authenticity and excellence of our culture and heritage. »
