Session

Resilience Dynamics: Strategic Change Management

Small Group Discussion

We will explore strategies for navigating unforeseen transitions in family businesses, emphasizing emotional foundations and adaptive approaches within the family context. This session will unpack the concept of change and its unpredictability, guiding participants to develop a mindset that not only survives but thrives amidst unexpected challenges. Participants will engage in personal storytelling, illustrative case studies from various regions and sectors, and group exercises to practically equip their minds and emotional responses for facing crises. We will delve into critical aspects of change management, including the role of leadership, the importance of emotional intelligence, and the influence of family dynamics that may resist change. A key focus will be recognizing and addressing the 5 elements of resistance, a well-established tool in change management, which provides a framework for understanding resistance within oneself and the family. Additionally, we will examine effective communication during times of change, analyzing personal and family resistance elements, and identifying emotional cores in negotiations between family interests and needs.
